If you have 61 cancellations within a month at $10 an hour, that costs you $6100. It costs you thousands of dollars to not have cancellation policies in place. It is not your fault that people get sick or forget their appointments, However, when they commit to an appointment, they should pay for it. whether they show up or not. It is your job to train people on how to do business with you. When you do business with people that respect you and you have firm policies in place, they will happily pay you for those missed appointments. It is not a cancellation issue or a pandemic issue, it is a boundaries respect, and communications issue, You are the one responsible for fixing this. By having no boundaries, you are giving other people control over your money. Time is money. Communicate your boundaries clearly to your clients.
